The Sales Engineer (SE) is an individual contributor role, responsible for providing technical, pre-sales support to Avant Trusted Advisors and Avant Sales teams. The SE will be expected to stay current on service providers’ (provider) offerings and industry technical certifications. The SE will use this knowledge to train and educate Trusted Advisors and Sales teams, contribute to Avant technical content, and provide solution recommendations to Avant customers. The SE is a member of the Engineering team, focused primarily on mid-sized opportunities.

Essential Functions

• Support the Avant sales process across two or more product lines, including UCaaS and CCaaS
• Understand customer business and technical objectives and product requirements in order to develop accurate, detailed solutions
• Assist in the execution of remote (primarily) and onsite (occasionally) meetings with customers
• Contribute to the development of competitive documentation (Dynamic Matrices) across providers
• Participate in Marketing events (BootCamps, PowerUps) to train Trusted Advisors, working with providers
• Continously expand knowledge on new and emerging technologies related to Avant offerings
• Adhere to standardized processes for the Engineering team in order to improve the quality of work and increase scalability
• Achieve and maintain provider certifications in a timely manner
• Provide technical leadership and knowledge utilizing Avant’s portfolio of providers
• Work with minimal supervision aiding pre-sales and (occasionally) product development (Pathfinder)
• Contribute to Avant’s knowledge base (Ninja Notes) around providers and across the industry
• Maintain a deep understanding of providers’ offerings, to explain differences to customers and Trusted Advisors

Required Skills

• Two or more years of experience in technical sales or engineering roles
• Channel experience is a bonus
• Customer-facing experience
• Knowledge in UCaaS and/or CCaaS (preferably both)
• Strong communication skills
• Tech-savvy across MSFT Office and other Windows apps
• Ability to travel to 1-2 industry events per year
