Channel Manager – National Strategic Partners

Full Time, 
Located in Chicago, IL or U.S. Remote

The Channel Manager works in conjunction with a national channel sales team and is responsible for developing and managing new and existing relationships within the Strategic Partner division of Avant. Strategic Partners can include Value-Added Resellers (VAR’s), Managed Services Partners (MSP’s), System Integrators (SI’s), and Strategic Agent Partners (Trusted Advisors). This role will drive net new sales, manage a set number of accounts, and focus on a particular category or region.

Reporting To : Regional Vice President of Strategic Partners

Essential Functions

  • Achieve individual & team sales goals.
  • Responsible for the overall growth and development of our strategic partners.
  • Identify and establish new revenue channels while aligning with our Strategic Partners business initiatives.
  • Leverage various departments within Avant to enable and develop consistent sales campaigns & trainings that promote Avant’s product portfolio.
  • Lead account planning for assigned market segments, responsible for the growth, retention, and account management.
  • Expand into new divisions and lines of business with existing strategic partners.
  • Recruit and identify potential new strategic partners.


Operational Functions:

  • Engage with various vendor/suppliers to promote solutions that complement our strategic partners product and services portfolios.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing escalations around customer/partner billing, commissions, and implementation issues by working collaboratively with sales, operations, finance, product, and executive leaders to improve the strategic partner experience.


Data & Analytical Functions:

  • Own the creation and efficient distribution of sales metrics, reports, and other sales related business intelligence.
  • Continuously update Salesforce and other technology platforms to increase the productivity and effectiveness of the sales team.
  • Analyze complex information and data, translating these findings into actionable deliverables, strategies, targets, messages, and presentations.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews with strategic partners & Avant leadership.

Required Skills

  • A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or advanced degree in related field of study preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in IT or Channel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent ability to influence decision making at all levels of organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals Month over Month
  • Proven Management experience
  • Navigation of complex, enterprise deals
