Business Systems Analyst
AVANT is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst to facilitate the creation of world-class tools to support Avant’s growth. This individual is the channel between Avant’s internal business groups and our technology team. They’ll bring a wealth of experience, understanding, improving and planning tools for internal customers. This individual is a great communicator; equally comfortable talking to business groups and understanding their needs, as it is talking to software developers or data analysts. This individual will drive Avant’s push for better internal tools to support its explosive growth.
Essential Functions
- Constant communication with the business groups at Avant to understand their needs and help them envision what is possible.
- Write requirements for development, reporting and ETL projects
- Produce bi-weekly release notes for new releases
- Work closely with QA, data team and development team to communicate and track requirements through the development cycle
- Help with basic project management
- Participate in agile scrums, grooming, planning meetings
- Lead collaboration between our technology team, project stakeholders, and executives to ensure transparency and alignment on our software development roadmap
- Assist with the definition of user stories and facilitate the translation of business requirements into a technical design
- Assist in the development of business cases for new products / features
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in a business systems analyst role leveraging agile methodologies
- Basic PM experience
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior executive and create cross-functional alignment
- A history of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced software development organization
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate ideas with internal and external partners
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to check assumptions, form recommendations, and drive action
Recommended Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related technical field
- Experience in a business analyst role, with exposure to all aspects of software product development
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Tools/Technologies:
- Jira for project planning / roadmapping
- Familiarity with Salesforce
- Familiarity with Azure Analytics and Power BI
